Building Cedar Strip Kayaks, Canoes and Paddle Boards

I clearly remember my first time in a kayak. It was also the first time I paddled one of my own hand made wood strip kayaks. I rushed out early one spring after completing an 18ft cedar sea kayak, I just could not wait to try out this boat I had spent 3 months building. I was excited and very worried. I had never paddled a kayak before and the water was cold. I had never built anything before either so a lot could go wrong, at least I thought so.

Heirloom Paddle Sports is the result of my hard work, engineering and artistic design. I spared no expense in materials or time and I still do not accept short cuts or limitations on quality. These boats will perform with the best or maybe better. Strip building allows for complicated hull structures for high performance and strength while producing the lightest boat available. The ability to add artistic design to a boat is virtually unlimited and remember they are hand made by me and can be hand made by you.
